From hunter-gatherer tribal groups, through city states, through empires, kingdoms, Communism, and finally Democracy...
We have evolved. It is the label of Democracy that is now evolving to include protections not only from tyranny, violence, hate but also substantial goals are emerging of freedom of expression, tolerance, and a desire to create a better future. ff we look back at the tyranny of many leaders it was sometimes accepted as a way to extricate the state from a terrible period of time "a leader with a firm hand". What happens when the state has that much power? Power corrupts. Arrogance, greed and personal egos cloud their decisions...illusion all of it.
Humbleness, and a desire to work hard for the people you represent is the mark of a great leader. Charity and benevolence is the mark of a good person. Willingness to become involved, to have a voice, and to have hope is the mark of a true citizen.
As for democracy, "if you do not use it, you will lose it." We all must have faith that as a people, and as a group, we will find a solution to our current state of affairs by working together in peace.
Richard, well done! Why do we say "well done"? Because we encourage dialogue, truly we are VOX "voice". Through dialogue we will reach our journey together in peace.
