'OCCUPY EDMONTON' FACES 10:00 am EVACUATION NOTICE

Over 50 people that are part of 'Occupy Edmonton' that have been occupying the park at 102 street and Jasper Ave. for the past three days have been given a 10:00 am evacuation notice.

The group is hoping to raise awareness around the amount of influence corporations have over our political institutions, how they are dictating public policy and decimating the environment. They are also concerned about a system that puts the hunger for profits above the health and well being of all our communities. The camp started following a march that drew thousands of people to the streets of Edmonton. The march was held on a global day of solidarity with the 'occupy wall street movement.'

Despite the camp being incredibly peaceful and receiving overwhelming support from Edmontonian's that have been dropping off food, clothing and other supplies Melcor Development, the owner's of the park, has set an evacuation dead line of 10:00 am, today (Tuesday). Many of the campers are likely going to stay despite the evacuation.

The camp needs your urgent help!!

Please come down to the park (102 Street and Jasper Ave.) and support the occupiers. We do not know when police might remove people so please come down whenever you can. We are also pushing for as many people to get there at 9:30 am to show the strong support for the camp.

**We will have a series of activities going on, including sign making and workshops on legal rights, de escalation and more. Come learn and have some fun!**
